ITINERARY We leave Vic from the car park at El Sucre, at the western entrance to the town. We look for the road to Sant Eulàlia de Riuprimer. We pass under the old road of the N-152, we turn towards Barcelona and then we turn off to the right shortly afterwards. Before reaching the village of Sentfores (La Guixa), we cross the road of the C-17. We go to the left of the roundabout at the entrance to the village and keep going in the same direction in order to reach the track which goes behind the church.
At the farmhouse of El Pujolar we keep to the right until reaching the more well-beaten track that climbs up to the left. We climb up to El Serrat del Vilar, which is the first aim of the route. The track climbs up to Fontarnau, going to the right of the house, and then we turn to the left. The track climbs up via a series of hairpin bends until the hill pass (the Coll del Serrat), where we turn left. The next turn to the left will take us to the cross of La Cruz de la Miranda.
We now return to the hill pass (the Coll del Serrat) and then climb up to the left. The track then takes us down to the road from Vic to Santa Eulàlia de Riuprimer (we have to turn to the left at the last turning). We cross the road and climb the track on the other side; at the first turning we head left. We then come to a turning to the right which is signposted to Sant Sebastià; this will take us directly to the hermitage. If we continue straight on at the turning, the climb is a lot more gentle (the route is marked for the latter option). Once on the flat area at the top of the hill, we continue straight on, crossing a type of bridge. Finally we take a rough path on the left. Turning consecutively to the left, the right, the left and the right, we reach the hermitage.
Behind the hermitage we follow the markings for the walking route of the PR (yellow and white bars), which takes us to Sant Julià Sassorba and the cross of La Cruz de Gurb. We descend to the road from Vic to Olost. We continue following the PR markings, which cross under the road of the C-25. A rough track climbs up to the left of the stream of Torrente de Sant Julià as far as the hermitage. We follow the track towards Sant Bertomeu del Grau and then leave it and descend to the right. After a climb, we reach a farm and a house. We leave the track and follow the PR walking route along a climbing path (the first stretch is not cyclable). At the higher part we find a track in disuse. We continue to the left, coming down to another hill pass with three options. We continue straight on, following the PR markings, and we come to the pass of the Turó de la Creu de Gurb (the track to get here turns into a path). We leave the bikes in order to scramble up to see the remains of the castle, from where we can enjoy spectacular views over the Plain of Vic and the surrounding area.
For technically advanced cyclists, it’s possible to go down the technical path which the PR follows. For those wanting a gentler descent, it’s necessary to go back along the same track we came along. Before reaching the junction with three options, we have to take a path to the right with GR markings (red and white bars). The technical path goes down along the Baga de Vespella until reaching a track on the right which goes down quickly. However, take care: there is an abandoned house and just before this there is a turning to the right, which we have to take. The route follows the path on a gentle climb and then we turn to to the left and go down a heavily eroded path on the left and then, finally, we leave this to the right to take a path which crosses a small stream.
We get to a more comfortable path and follow it to the right. We pass a small hermitage and continue along a rocky path which descends to the right as we look from the door of the hermitage. We reach a farmhouse and make a full turn to take the track which goes to the house. We come to a tarmac track which leads to Sant Andreu de Gurb. We follow the signs of the PR, going to the left of the church, until reaching a tarmac track on the left which takes us to Vic once we have crossed the road of the C-25.
